Likewise, the Company is a Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) registered enterprise to engage in General Shipping Business in accordance with Memorandum Circular No. 186, series of 2003 issued pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 474.   UMC MANILA is strategically located in the shipping heart of Ermita, Manila fronting the Manila Bay. The place has a modern office environment and can be conveniently reached via public transportation from all major destinations in Manila and suburbs.   UMC MANILA is envisioned to be a leading and globally competitive Ship  Management Company / Ship manager capable of managing, operating, supervising, administering and developing the operation of vessels belonging to, or may be leased or operated by Foreign Shipping Companies / Principals and is committed to provide Quality Ship Management, Training and other Support Services which are founded on the principles of humanity, democracy, nationalism and work excellence to ensure safe, efficient and economical operation of Client’s managed vessels.   In order to achieve our vision & mission, UMC Manila is totally committed to establish, implement and maintain a Quality Management System within the framework of ISO 9001:2015 Standard taking into account not only the four (4) pillars of the maritime regime, namely; SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW and the ILO Conventions but also other applicable National and International Standards and other instrumentalities such as ISM Code, ISPS Code, Flag State Requirements and the Port State Regulations, among others.   Furthermore, the Quality Management System of UMC Manila has been rigorously  assessed / evaluated by the competent experts of GCL International Ltd., aan ISO Certifying Body under the United Kingdom Accreditation  Service (UKAS), to ensure that our Company consistently and continuously provides quality Ship Management Services and Pre-joining Crew Training.
